Christmas season flooding – halfway there and still dry

It's December 15, the half way mark, and so far I haven't experienced any flooding. With fingers crossed I hope this streak continues.

This is the first year I can think of that there has been no severe flooding during the year end rainy season.

I can remember all the way back to the days when I attended Stella Marris Primary School when I would be playing and fishing in the flood water.

Back in the days I remember watching Patwa and Tilapia hovering over my bridge from my veranda. Sometimes I would drop a line from my veranda hoping to catch a big fish but dem dam caca-belly would eat out muh bread frown. I'm a town man, I didn't know any better about catching fish.

Childhood memories aside, we have gotten some serious downpours for the month already and a few flood warnings have been issued by the Ministry of Agriculture but so far luck has been on our side.

Just two weeks more and I'll be my first dry Christmas. Finger's crossed.cool
